Intel neemt Infineon Wireless Solutions over
Neubiberg, Germany and Santa Clara, Calif., Aug. 30, 2010, CEST – Infineon Technologies AG and Intel Corporation have entered into a definitive agreement to transfer Infineon’s Wireless Solutions (WLS) business to Intel in a cash transaction valued at approximately $1.4 billion.

NK Router Rennen 2010 Estafette-Editie groot succes
Ridderkerk, 28 augustus 2010 – Voor het tweede achtereenvolgende jaar organiseerde Alternate, in samenwerking met Sitecom, het NK Router Rennen. Dit jaar draaide het bij het NK Router Rennen allemaal om teamspirit met de Estafette Editie. Winnaar was team ‘Versgeperst’, tweede werd ‘Bij Elkaar Geraapt Zooitje’ en op de derde plaats is team ‘Byte Babes’ geëindigd.

Intel en Nokia openen eerste gezamenlijke onderzoekslab
Kontich, 24 augustus 2010 – Intel, Nokia en de Finse Universiteit van Oulu hebben vandaag in Finland officieel het Intel and Nokia Innovation Center geopend. In dit onderzoekscentrum zullen enkele tientallen onderzoekers gaan werken. Het lab in Finland is het nieuwste onderdeel van Intels Europese onderzoeksnetwerk, Intel Labs Europe.

Nieuwe netbooks op basis van dual-core Intel Atom processors
Kontich, 23 augustus 2010 – Vanaf vandaag komen wereldwijd diverse nieuwe netbooks op de markt, die gebaseerd zijn op de nieuwe, mobiele dual-core Intel Atom processors. De netbooks, van onder andere Acer, ASUS, Fujitsu, Lenovo, LG, Samsung, MSI en Toshiba, bieden hogere prestaties en nieuwe mogelijkheden voor bijvoorbeeld games, maar ook voor Adobe Flash-technologie.

Intel to Acquire McAfee
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 19, 2010 – Intel Corporation has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire McAfee, Inc., through the purchase of all of the company’s common stock at $48 per share in cash, for approximately $7.68 billion. Both boards of directors have unanimously approved the deal, which is expected to close after McAfee shareholder approval, regulatory clearances and other customary conditions specified in the agreement.
